Papaya Banana Split

My philosophy is all about making healthy delicious food which is simple and quick to create. This is a delight! I’m away from my normal kitchen this week – staying with my friend in Manchester. Therefore I have no high powered equipment. However, I found a little contraption in the cupboard by Dualit to whip up this ‘raw’ breakfast combo.

It just goes to show, you don’t need to fork out a lot of money on kitchen tools to feed your face with healthy food. The ingredients are tres simple too…

Papaya Pomegranate Porridge

1 ripe papaya (peeled and de-seeded)
3 tbsp oats
Ground cinnamon
Pomegranate seeds

Blend the papaya and oats together in the mixer for a minute or so.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and pomegranate.

Banana Custard Porridge

Half ripe banana
2 tbsp oats
Grated ginger (optional)

Blend the banana and oats together in the mixer for a minute or so until smooth.
Top with grated ginger – or try adding 1-2 tsps of cacao or carob powder for a chocolately edge.

Serve as in the photo.

NB: I got the pre packed pomegranate from Morrisons – it was going cheap (49p!) in the reduced section of the sandwich aisle. All of the ingredients in my recipes are readily available in supermarkets and grocery stalls.

Here’s the kit I found in the cupboard…

Dualit Blender
I used the chopper bowl and blade to make my Papaya Banana Split but if you only have a hand blender, give that a whirl.
