2 cups dates
1 cup oats
1 cup raw cacao powder (the best by far is by Big Tree Farms)
Blend all ingredients together in a food processor until it all binds together into a sticky dough. Place in the freezer or fridge to set for 10 minutes or so. Gives you time to wash up!
Roll into balls or pat into squares. You decide the size. Decorate with shredded coconut, sesame seeds or cacao nibs. Cinammon would also work. Or just leave them plain.
Try different flavours too by adding fresh mint, orange zest or vanilla extract to the mix.
These balls are like rocket fuel. Mixed with the slow releasing energy power of oats, they’ll keep you satisfied for longer. My favourite ingredient IN THE WORLD is cacao. It’s potent – it has over 1500 beneficial compounds. You must buy raw cacao powder to get all of these fantastic nutrients though. As soon as it’s processed into normal cocoa powder, only 5 remain. The main reason I rave about raw cacao is because it tastes so frickin good! And you’ll have a wonderful chocolate high.
Try it. Take your time to eat one of these. Stop and notice what happens in your body when you’ve swallowed it (…oh er). My heart immediately pounds harder and I can’t help but smile. Yep – it contains a natural stimulant called theobromine. It’s better for you than caffeine for sure. Gives you a feeling of bliss.
Eat within 1 month.
